Masterclasses commence on Monday 18 Aug
and finish on Thursday 21 Aug
Most classes are held at Ruskin Glass Centre
Your Masterclass Package
We are delighted that brilliant and
talented glass artists from around the
world will again be leading masterclasses
and workshops prior to the third
International Festival of Glass. We do
hope you join us for another thrilling
week of activities.
This year we have incorporated the
popular evening activities into the
workshop fee (see below); these will include food
where stated. Lunches are included
each day at the Ruskin Glass Centre.
All participants are also invited to the British
Glass Biennale Awards Ceremony at
6.30pm on Thursday 21 August.
Registration opens at 11.30am on
Monday 18 August with classes
commencing at 1.30pm after a
welcome briefing and lunch.
Classes will run from 9.30am – 5pm each day.
There will be a plenum on Thursday 21
at 4pm with an opportunity see the
results from each workshop.
To book your place please fill out the
application form (Click 'Book Your Class' left)
and send it to us with payment details. CVs will
be required for intermediate to
advanced classes.
Festival passes can also be booked in
advance; these will be needed for
entry to the Ruskin Glass Centre site
during the festival weekend.

Monday 18 August
Black Country Living Museum
We will have exclusive use of one of the Black Country’s top visitor attractions. Step back in time with a trip on an electric tram, take part in a Victorian school lesson and explore shops, houses and workshops where costumed guides will set the scene. Fish and chip supper included (vegetarian option available) with traditional drinks available in the Bottle & Glass Inn.
Tuesday 19 August
Broadfield House Glass Museum
An elegant evening reception celebrating Diana Dias-Leăo’s catwalk exhibition of fabulous glass and ceramic dresses. ‘The Danger of the Image’ explores issues around personal identity, beauty and human behaviour and is accompanied by a display of gorgeous glass jewellery. Drinks and canapés.
Wednesday 20 August
Ruskin Glass Centre
The opening of ‘Tempest’, an international, invitational glass bead exhibition organised by GBUK and inspired by Shakespeare’s famous play. Followed by the press night of ‘Tempestade’ a dramatic glass shadow puppet play by Puppetlink.
Thursday 21 August
Ruskin Glass Centre
Private View and Awards Ceremony for the British Glass Biennale exhibition. Join us for the opening of the UK’s major contemporary glass exhibition.
