Dr Vanessa Cutler is a Research Co-ordinator at the Welsh School of Architectural Glass, Swansea Metropolitan University, as well as a lecturer, craftsman, designer, consultant, recognised glass artist and authority on waterjet cutting of glass.
This computer based workshop will cover preparation of files for waterjet cutting. Waterjet technology is increasingly being used for sculptural and design purposes. The workshop sets out to show how a drawing can be transferred through digital processes to a CNC file that instructs the industrial machine to successfully cut intricate designs maintaining the integrity of the drawing.
Learning the fundamentals of waterjet cutting, this Masterclass will give you the opportunity to experience the creation of a water-jet glass form from start to finish. It will include producing a waterjet cut glass tile max size 200 x 200mm.
