One of Australia’s foremost glass artists with a global reputation and a career spanning over three decades, Nick has been pivotal in the development of studio glass in Australia as a teacher and mentor as well as a designer/maker. He has taught frequently at Pilchuck, Corning and Japan and has exhibited throughout the world. His compelling work is constantly evolving, is often large scale and is characterised by a masterful use of colour, texture and composition as well as an incandescent beauty.

A rare opportunity to work in the UK with this master of form and technique. Participants will be able to learn or hone traditional Venetian techniques such as Latticcino and Zanfirico and apply them with a contemporary twist. Nick specialises in “engineering improbabilities” and will work with each participant on colour and form as a starting point for conversations about composition and engineering. A chance for glassmakers to push their existing work to a new level with the skill and support of a man who is often described as a generous and inspirational teacher.
