Through a Glass Darkly

An exhibition of the work of Peter David

Venue: Red House Glass Cone (Upper Gallery)
Date & Time:
10am - 4pm Monday 13 August - Sunday 7 October

Peter David FGE (1924-2004) produced over 100 images on glass using the painstaking technique of stipple or diamond-point engraving, which he took up in the late 1960’s having seen work by Lawrence Whistler. The exhibition is a selection of those glasses, complemented by Peter’s photographs of some of the other glasses and deep sea animals. By profession a zoologist and oceanographer, he took his inspiration from the natural world and his engravings often reflect his view of the world. By inclination a perfectionist and complete craftsman as also on display is a range of items made by Peter to complement his glass engraving.
