Where: Ruskin Glass Centre
Will Farmer, Director of Fieldings Auctioneers, and a regular on BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, has taken charge of this event since the early days of the Festival, raising vital Festival funds and bringing lashings of humour and excitement as the Public Festival comes to a close. Each Festival, the Fun Auction draws in the crowds and what started as a light hearted end to the Public Festival has grown into an exciting event where artists can sell work and bidders can bag themselves a real bargain!
The Fun Auction welcomes contributions from everyone. Smaller individual or humorous work sells best, however donations of art books, glass supplies, good quality experimental work and relevant kitsch are also welcome. Please make items that are easily transportable. Contributing artists have the option of retaining either 25% or 50% of the winning bid.
For the first time in 2012, a preview of some of the items were showcased here on the Festival website. This will continue again in 2017, so be sure to get your entry forms in early for a chance to have your work featured.
