Support the Festival
The International Festival of Glass is made possible by a number of sources of income. Core funding and specific project funding has in the past been gratefully received from Arts Council England, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, European Regional Development Fund and Ruskin Mill Educational Trust.
Over recent years the Festival has recognised the need to broaden our approach to fundraising in order that we become a sustainable, resilient and innovative organisation. In doing so the Festival has developed relationships with a number of like minded commercial sponsors and individuals with philanthropic ideals, including Kilncare UK, Air Liquide, Warm Glass UK, Enville Ale and Mark Holford, a private glass collector. The Festival has demonstrated its capability to offer these sponsors and supporters a large number of highly targeted marketing opportunities, and possibilities for client entertainment. For the 2015 event, the Festival is looking to increase relationships with potential sponsors, in addition to accepting the kind donations of individuals.
The International Festival of Glass was founded by Ruskin Mill Land Trust, with one of the trust's sites, The Ruskin Glass Centre and Glasshouse College, acting as one of the main sites of the public aspect of the Festival. The Festival has become integral to the objectives of the Trust, which include advancing "the education of young people with learning difficulties and/or behavioual problems or special educational needs through training in the areas of arts, craft, agriculture and environmental sciences"; and promoting "research into the practice and developement of those areas of education provided that all research findings will be widely disseminated." By supporting the International Festival of Glass, sponsors and donors will also be supporting the values and development of Ruskin Mill Land Trust.
