This one-day symposium will explore the special nature of glass in craft and industry. It will focus on the development of innovative approaches and creative opportunities for glass.
It will bring together a number of high profile keynote speakers and glass professionals, such as Dr David Bricknell and Dr Vanessa Cutler, who work with new technologies or use traditional processes in new ways to expand creative vocabularies and technical possibilities.
Call for Papers
The symposium seeks to explore similarities & differences across the differing attitudes to the special nature of the material ‘glass’.
We invite papers from a wide spectrum that reaches from the position of individual craft practitioners when faced with the new formal vocabulary inherent in a new manufacturing or making process, to that of a glass technologist seeking to develop a new type of glass product.
Submission of Papers
Please submit your 500 word proposal by 28 February 2010 to Dr Kristina Niedderer. Email: niedderer@wlv.ac.uk
